Sex, Disability and Chronic Pain

It’s a persistent myth that good sex should be spontaneous and involve (at least!) one partner hanging upside down with their legs wrapped around their ears. At Venus Envy, we know that everyone can and deserves to have sex, regardless of ability, shape, size, race, gender and sexual orientation, and work to bust myths and provide better information about sex than what we’ve been told. In this workshop, we’ll focus on bodies often left out of the conversation, and discuss tips, tricks and common concerns about sex for the disability and chronic pain community. This workshop is open to people of any gender, sexuality and anatomy, but will prioritize disabled experiences.

Facilitator bio:
Rachele (she/they) is a queer, Jewish, disabled femme, with a passion for sex and pleasure-based sexuality education. She is the Education Coordinator at Venus Envy Halifax, Nova Scotia's only education-based sex shop and book store. In their role, they run workshops on all kinds of fun and sexy topics, from relationship structures to disabled sexuality to things like consent and communication!
