**********************************************

Welcome incoming master's students!

This survey explanation is intended for new students who are starting the MPP, MPPDS, MHA, and MNLM degree program in fall 2024 and are completing the required statistics prerequisite course at USC, during summer 2024.

The online PPD 504 course begins on Wednesday, June 3rd @ 6pm Pacific Daylight Time.  You will be able to ask questions in real-time using Zoom. Students living outside of the Pacific Daylight Time zone are permitted to watch recorded class sessions and ask questions via email or during virtual office hours.  All students are encouraged to attend live sessions, if possible, to provide the best learning experience.

Additional information will be provided in early May including a summer course syllabus and directions explaining how to access Blackboard and Zoom. If you have any questions about the course or the statistics prerequisite requirement, please contact your program administrator.

This paragraph is intended to briefly explain next steps, (for those of you who are newly admitted students starting the program in fall 2024) semester. As you are starting PPD 504 (the Price School statistics prerequisite course)prior to your official admission term of fall 2024, the Registrar's Office is required to build a separate student record for the summer term only. During the summer, you will be considered a "Limited Status" or non-degree seeking student.  In August, your record will be updated to indicate that you are a degree-seeking student. As previously explained by your program administrator, once you have been added as a Limited Status student, all schedule changes will need to be completed through One Stop (the Registrar's Office). We highly-suggest that you register for all of your fall 2024 courses before Tuesday, May 28th to avoid any difficulty accessing your online student record. If you are an international student, you will complete your fall registration once the Office of International Services removes the registration hold from your record.

All new students who are considering or who have decided to take PPD 504 at USC should complete this survey, confirming their registration interest no later than Wednesday, May 29th. Students will be registered by Suzanne Alexander, the MPP/MPPDS program administrator on approximately Friday, May 31 or Monday, June 3rd. You will be notified via email after you have been registered for the course. At that time, you will need to pay your summer tuition and fees https://sfs.usc.edu/payment/. For students with Price School scholarship funding, please contact our student aid coordinator, John Mendoza at jdmendoz@usc.edu to verify if your Dean’s Merit Scholarship extends to the statistics prerequisite course.

If you are a new, international student, the Price School has been approved to register you for PPD 504 in summer, as the course is a required prerequisite for your degree program. If you are taking PPD 504 in summer, your registration holds will be temporarily lifted (in order for the Registrar to complete your summer registration). Following summer registration, the hold will be placed back onto your record.  You will need to wait to register for your fall courses until the university-required documents have been presented to the Office of International Services and they have removed your registration hold.
