Start by reading the title on page 3 together. Have your child read the boy's words in the voice balloon. Ask: When has someone (don't name names) been unkind to you? When have you been unkind? *

Read aloud the words on the strips at the bottom of page 3. Hand out crayons and have your child add color. Hand out scissors as well and help your child to cut the strips and circle on the black cutting lines. Collect the scissors and have your child to the circle at the top of their work area. Help them to arrange the strips so they make two sentences: I forgive you. You forgive me. *

Hand out glue sticks. Have your child pick up the "I" strip. SHow them how to make a circle with the trip and glue it together. Next they take a "Forgive" strip and attach that circle to the first one to begin a chain. Continue with all 6 strips. *

Have your child put their chains at the top of their work area and pick up their circles. Have them print their names on the lines on both sides. Then have them read aloud the two sentences, putting his or her name in each sentence. Punch a hole in the top of the circles and distribute lengths of yarn to attach the circle to the chain.
