Discarnate Application
Discarnate <Disc> is an age 21+ FC that seeks to immerse our members in the atmosphere of an occult-themed underworld environment. We want characters who can be villains and dark heroes—oppressor and oppressed. Though we have characters who can be ruthlessly ambitious, merciless, and demanding, they also have virtues that make them desired for an organization, and some degree of humanity that makes them relatable on some level. In other words, the organization has no use for psychopaths.

OOCly, we recruit those with the initiative to buy into our story and add to it. We will teach the game and lore, but we offer no free rides. ICly, the network seeks those who can follow orders and be cultivated with devotion. It is with intentional purpose that its recruits are called Supplicants, for it is with an open mind and hardened resolve that its members rise in stature.

Discarnate values scholars to study and catalog its findings, enforcers to protect its resources and project its wrath, and shadows to watch, divert and report information. It seeks those who can organize expeditions and delve into dangerous tombs for the acquisition of the forbidden and the lost.

Though some of us play characters who are ICly villainous, bullying, or sadistic, we do not tolerate OOC bullying, discrimination, emotional abuse, or invasion of privacy. In short, we lift each other up and support each other in real life, but our characters can come into conflict in roleplay. *
Do you agree to strictly separate IC and OOC behavior? A character cannot be punished for OOC factors since real life always comes first. However, OOC factors cannot be used to absolve oneself of IC consequences whenever convenient. *
As an FC, we focus on the immersive interaction of characters who have depth but are not infallible. We do not condone "min-maxing,", "powergaming," or "god-modding." *
We strive not to break FFXIV canon, though we will expand upon it in an intuitive manner, especially in regard to magic, to create the occult aesthetics of our FC. *

We need members to have some level of writing skill to prevent the breaking of immersion. We don't require English majors and recognize English is not a native language to all of our members. Mostly what we're worried about are lazy typers who can't be bothered with punctuation, capitalization, or who use text shortcuts in their emotes. Please provide a writing sample describing your character as they're walking in Sapphire Avenue in Ul'dah where they spot a young, starving, unkempt orphan boy. He's digging through the clothing of an elderly man who looks incapacitated or even dead, the body partially obscured behind some crates. How does your character react? *
