Fox trapping workshops - Katoomba (8, 9 November 2020)
Foxes are a known predator for both native wildlife and livestock and can cause major damage in our local area. Greater Sydney Local Land Services has engaged professional trapper Mark Lamb to demonstrate best practice methods in the identification and trapping of foxes.
Blue Mountains landholders in target areas can attend one of the following sessions:
Session 1

Workshop topics covered will include:
- Trapping foxes using soft-jaw and cage traps
- Control tools
- Equipment preparation
- Identifying signs
- Trap site selection
- Trap setting
- Use of decoys/lures
- Inspecting/running your traps and humane disposal
- Using wildlife cameras
THIS EVENT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AND PEOPLE WHO ARE UNABLE TO WALK OUTDOORS ON UNEVEN SURFACES.
Please note:
The safety of attendees and staff at these events is paramount. This event will strictly comply with COVID-19 rules as directed by NSW Health.
In order to minimise unnecessary handling due to COVID-19, food and beverages will NOT be provided on the day. Attendees are strongly advised to bring their own lunch and morning tea (sorry).
This event is being planned according to the current COVID-19 conditions in NSW and therefore could be subject to change. You will be notified if any changes occur. Actions include:
• Regularly wash hands/use hand sanitiser (will be provided) throughout the day
• Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 m between yourself and others throughout the day including during breaks and networking.
• No hand shaking, hugging or kissing.
• Using hand sanitiser before and after interacting with high touch surfaces.
• If you become unwell report this to the event facilitator and leave the event.
• Attendees must sit in the same location throughout the event.
• Additionally, it will be recommended that attendees wear a mask and also disposable gloves if handling equipment/resource. Gloves and masks will be made available to all attendees and staff.
We ask that you please do not attend this event if:
• You develop flu-like symptoms or are feeling unwell.
• Have travelled overseas within the past 14 days.
• Are a close contact with someone who has been diagnosed as COVID positive in the last 14 days
