About me:
My name is Silviu, I am a 4th year Hons student at University of the West of Scotland, studying Computer Games Development and currently doing my dissertation on "A serious game to teach OOP principles in C# and best code practices". As the research involves human participants, I have taken considerate care for confidentiality and anonymity of participants. To that effect no identifiers will be stored during this questionnaire. During the analysis stage responses will be identified as: "Participant A: Suggested...”.
The only people having access to the data captured will be myself, my supervisor and moderator and the examiners board.

About questionnaire:
This is a questionnaire for my dissertation. My dissertation aims to look at the problem that learning programming represents to students when taken for the first time and how the introduction of Serious Games can help address the problem.
The research questions that the dissertation aims to answer are:
1) Can C# programming principles of OOP be effectively taught through gameplay?
2) Can clean code and best practices be expressed and taught effectively through gameplay.
Why have I been chosen?
You have been selected because of your interest and involvement in gaming. Whether you are an enthusiastic gamer or a professional with experience and knowledge in the subject matter, your opinion is highly valuable to this study.
Do I have to take part?
It is up to you to decide whether or not to take part. If you do decide to take part, you should read the information carefully and you will be asked to sign a consent form. If you decide to take part, you are still free to withdraw at any time and without giving a reason. If you are a student at UWS a decision not to participate will not affect your grades in any way.
Purpose of this questionnaire:
Is to gather information regarding the general feel around serious games, its effectiveness and to gather some insight regarding how players may feel regarding the planned development ideas.
Questionnaire should take 10-15 minutes to complete maximum.
Consent:
I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I am free to withdraw at any time, without giving any reason.
I understand that I will be asked questions, and my responses will be recorded, but that I will not be identified by name in any resulting published work.
