Liability Waiver Form
Everyone must sign that they have read, understood and intend to follow our safety rules before they can climb with us. Persons under the age 18 must be filled in by the parents at the bottom of this form.
           
Bergen Climbing Club is responsible for ensuring that the facilities and equipment are in proper condition and that the arrangements and the instructors follow the Norwegian Climbing Association's regulations. As a climber, you still accept that a certain risk is present and that you must take responsibility for your own safety by acting responsibly, following the club's rules and using equipment correctly.
           
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by a responsible adult and be informed about the safety rules at Bergen Climbing Club's facilities. Persons from 13 to 17 years of age can stay in our facilities without supervision when parents have signed a declaration of responsibility.

While visiting the climbing center
- No running in the center. Refrain from using a loud voice.
- Avoid staying in fall zones.
- Empty all pockets before climbing. We do not want things to fall from above.          
- Barefoot climbing is not allowed.          
- Do not take pictures of others in the center without consent
Bouldering
- Resting boulderers should yield for active boulders.          
- You are responsible for ensuring that other boulders do not fall on you.          
- Always climb down if possible and watch out before you jump down.          
- The mattresses are to fall on. Children should not play on the mattresses.
Roped climbing
- All climbing and belaying must be done with UIAA-approved equipment (CE approval).          
- All intermediate anchors from and including the 2nd sling and up to the top anchor must be clipped in.          
- You are responsible for knowing and following the standard climbing procedures.          
- There should never be more than one rope into the top anchors or intermediate anchors at the same time.          
- Avoid sticking your fingers in bolt hangers, carabiners and other metal.          
- Climbers coming from below must give right of way to climbers who are above.          
- In the event of a large weight difference, it is recommended that Edelrid Ohm be used in the first sling.          
- Roped soloing is not allowed.          
- Drytooling is not allowed.          
- The personnel in the facility have the authority to expel climbers who do not follow our guidelines.
Belay card (Brattkort or Topptaukort)
- We require a Brattkort or Topptaukort  to belay in our facility.          
- Practicing for Brattkort is only allowed with backup on autobelay for people who have been on courses with Bergen Climbing
  Club.          
- There is a requirement that the user holds a minimum of Topptaukort when using autobelay.
- Climbers visiting from other countries must be able to demonstrate good belay technique to our personnel before being
  allowed to climb in our facility.
- Visiting climbers on extended stays from other countries will be expected to take the belay card test(Brattprøven) and make a profile in our system.
         
For children under the age of 18, a separate declaration of responsibility at the bottom of this form must be signed by a guardian on behalf of any children named.
Confirmation
1. I understand that climbing and activities at Bergen Climbing Club involve risk, and that all activity and visits in the climbing facilities are at your own risk.          
           
2. I am obliged to follow the safety rules and instructions given by the staff. In the event of a breach of this, the staff has the right to revoke the belay card or expel persons at their own discretion.
           
3. I am obliged to notify the staff if I experience safety issues in the facilities, or see that other people's behavior can lead to risk.
           
4. Private instruction is not permitted in our facilities. All forms of instruction shall take place under the auspices of Bergen Climbing Club.
           
Bergen Klatreklubb disclaims any liability for damage that may occur during climbing or other activity at our facilities.
