BC Gay and Lesbian Archives Photo Identification Project
The BC Gay and Lesbian Archives, donated in 2018 by Ron Dutton, contains thousands of materials relating to the LGBTQ2+ history of BC and Vancouver. The City of Vancouver Archives hopes that community members and allies will be able to share their knowledge to help identify people and places that remain unidentified. By clarifying and adding to the archival descriptions, we can strengthen the historical record of LGBTQ2+ presence and visibility and recognize the contributions of those involved. Use the following links to access the BCGLA's photographs and please provide your insights on the identification of unknown persons, settings, and events!

The BCGLA Photo Identification Project is a pilot project for the City of Vancouver Archives to crowd-source information about archival records. We recognize that this project involves the Archives' collecting personal information from both users submitting information via our form as well as about individuals (third-parties) identified in the photographs. We take collecting such information seriously and only intend to use the information for our project purposes.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the identification or content of the images, please reach out to us.
