Postgraduate Research Skills For Success
We are running a programme for Research Postgraduate students to provide you with some targeted skills for each phase of your research degree.

Pre-session (October 25th) for those of you who missed orientation and will cover
a) General Orientation - Supports and Services, Campus Life, the Library
b) International Student Information - Immigration, Banking, Global Room, Cultural Adaptation
c) Welcome coffee/campus tour

The first session (November 1st) is aimed at new research students and will cover
a) Minding ourselves and each other during the postgraduate experience
b) Planning your thesis
c) The student-supervisor relationship

The second session (November 8th) is aimed at students who have completed their continuation report/exam and will cover
a) Networking
c) Promoting your research
d) Presentation skills

The third session (November 15th) is aimed at students approaching the end of their thesis and will cover
a) Preparing for your viva
b) Where to from here? Careers in academia and elsewhere
c) Social mixer

Students are welcome to attend any of the sessions, regardless of what stage in the research process they are at.

All sessions will be held in Regent House and will be available live online as well. Links to the live sessions will be sent to registered attendees the evening before the session
