2024 Healthy Aging Conference Award Nomination
This year and always, members of our network go above and beyond to serve older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their care partners. As we celebrate our 25th conference now known as the Healthy Aging Conference, we invite you to nominate individuals who are deserving of recognition. You can nominate multiple people and organizations for all the awards - just submit one form for each nomination.

Winners will be announced at the 2024 Healthy Aging Conference in Stone Mountain, GA on June 4, 2024.  Winners will receive honorary tokens, which will be either presented or mailed to them. Attendance at the ceremony is not required to win.

Submissions close Friday, May 17, 2024, at 11:59 p.m., so be sure to submit by then!

2024 Healthy Aging Conference
2024 Awards

Service Award: This award will recognize a person who has made valuable contributions over the past year and has shown to be a leader and/or visionary within the aging/disability network. The recipient can be a volunteer, staff member, advocate, anyone! There will be a maximum of five service awards presented.

AAA Excellence in Innovation: This award will recognize the AAA that has shown innovations in programming staffing, service delivery, assistive technology, and/or reaching underserved clients.

AAA Excellence in Sustainability: This award will recognize the AAA that has shown excellence in using a fee-for-service model, fund source development, unique partnerships, several core DAS programs, and/or private pay services.

ADRC Counselor of the Year Award: This award recognizes a person who has shown excellence in connecting individuals to services, providing exemplary customer service, and using creative thinking as an Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) Counselor.

Arnisha Norman Award: This award recognizes a person who has shown excellence in the fields of wellness and nutrition over the past year.

Beverly Littlefield Award: This award will recognize an organization that has shown excellence in program management and business acumen.

Lifetime Achievement Award: This award will recognize a person with a minimum of 20 years in the field of aging and/or disabilities.

Senior Center Director of the Year Award: This award will recognize a person who has shown their dedication to creating unique programming ideas and other valuable contributions to their senior center.

Senior Hunger* Non-Profit / Corporate Leader Award: This award recognizes a business or organization that has a strong community presence and a proven track record of identifying and implementing innovative solutions to help address senior hunger*.

Senior Hunger* Collaborative Solutions Award: This award recognizes a collaborative group of partners (businesses, governments, community groups, and/or nonprofit groups) that worked together to address a barrier in addressing senior hunger.

Senior Hunger* Rising Star Award: This award recognizes a business, local government, nonprofit, collaborative partnership, and/or individual that is emerging as a leader and is in the early stages of utilizing a best practice effectively on a larger population of interest.

SUMMARY OF THE FIVE FOCUS AREAS OF ADDRESSING SENIOR HUNGER THAT CAN BE INCLUDED:

1. Understanding the needs of today’s seniors

Describe in detail how the nominee has gained an understanding of and educated others on the needs of seniors in their communities.

2. Mitigating the impact of senior hunger on health

Describe in detail how the nominee has developed or supported initiatives to successfully mitigate the impact of food insecurity on the health of seniors in their community.

3. Working to improve food access

Describe in detail how the nominee has developed or supported initiatives to increase food access for seniors in their community.

4. Working to address food waste and reclamation

Describe in detail how the nominee has developed or supported initiatives to reduce food waste and food reclamation.

5. Working to meet the needs of the community

Describe in detail how the nominee has developed or supported initiatives to address unique barriers in their community.

For at least one of the five focus areas mentioned above, please provide:

  • Details of how the nominee has used creative solutions or innovative technology to make a sustainable and scalable impact.
  • Details of how the nominee has ensured the community has been involved in the development and implementation of their initiatives.
  • Details of how the nominee has promoted cultural awareness and community engagement including any cultural or communication barriers.
Awards will be presented at the 2024 Healthy Aging Conference Awards Ceremony. Winners will receive honorary tokens, which will be presented or mailed to them. Attendance at the ceremony is not required to win.
