Bat walks are weather dependent - therefore we will have to cancel the event if heavy rain is forecast. If we need to cancel we will aim to do this at least 3 hours in advance.

COVID-19 safety policies: EWG have conducted a COVID-19 risk assessment and will continue to monitor the safety of conducting bat walks as guidance is updated. In brief, we ask that you give other attendees not in your household / group ('group') sufficient space, and that bat detectors are not shared between groups. The bat detectors will be cleaned before each walk, and afterwards.

Privacy notice: It is essential that we collect contact details of anyone taking part on a bat walk so that we can contact participants to confirm or cancel the walk due to bad weather in advance of the event. Names and email addresses will be collected so that we can do this. These details will be stored on Google drive (via Google forms) and on the personal computers of the EWG bat walk leaders. Your details will be deleted after six weeks. All e-mails sent by the EWG walk leaders will be sent with your e-mail addresses in BCc.
