This questionnaire is based on the results of a previous survey completed by the Think Smartgrids association, the French trade body for smart grids. This survey aimed at identifying the future skills required by the industry in the area of smart grids.
The survey has identifies several skills divided in six areas. The areas are:
1)   Societal Analysis, Environmental Impacts, Data ownership and sharing
2)   Information and telecommunication technologies
3)   Automatism, industrial informatics and instruments
4)   Power system engineering
5)   Flexibility (storage, intermittency, demand response)
6)   Value creation from data
7)   Transferable skills
The survey highlighted also that skills in more than one area were required in smart-grid relevant job openings.
