Collecting metrics should be more than an exercise. Evaluating what we collect (or don't) and why allows us to set priorities, inform decisions, improve library services, and tell the library's story. I will share how we evaluate our program at the USMA Library and lessons learned from this process.
Heather Seminelli is the Assistant Director for Communications and Assessment at the U.S. Military Academy Library, West Point, New York. She is responsible for assessing user-centered services for the benefit of students, faculty, and staff; and telling the library's story. Before becoming a librarian, she served in the Army, assessing training and flying UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters. She is working toward her Ed.D. in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University and earned her MSLIS from Pratt School of Information.
