Lead Recommenders to Aid Science Journalists - Eligibility Survey

This is a survey to determine eligibility to take part in a research study titled “Automated Lead Recommendations to Aid Science Journalists” (STU00217473). This study, done under the direction of Northwestern Professor, Dr. Nicholas Diakopoulos (nad@northwestern.edu), aims to evaluate a recommender system that can identify potentially newsworthy research articles to help science and technology journalists, as they look for interesting leads to report on.

As a part of this study, you will be asked to be interviewed remotely via Zoom, Skype, Google Hangouts or Google Meet, or via phone call. Participants in the study will be compensated with a $50 Amazon gift card, delivered via email. 

To be eligible, you must be a practicing journalist who participates in editing and/or reporting on science and technology news stories that are published by professional news outlets. Other eligibility criteria are that you are over 18 years of age, an English speaker, and based in the U.S. /writing articles for outlets in the U.S.
