Is there any particular topic that you are keenly interested in discussing? [OPTIONAL]
[OPTIONAL!] Try as we might, this two hour workshop will only scratch the surface of the wide range of topics related to effective management of PIs. We will do our best to incorporate suggested topics in the workshop based on responses. Examples of such topics include: strategies for constructive feedback and evaluations (especially when you have "negative" feedback to share — how do you frame your comments around growth?); interviewing and hiring; managing interpersonal conflict.
Suggest a "case study" for workshop participants to brainstorm solutions together. [OPTIONAL]
[VERY OPTIONAL!] If you desire, you are welcome to share an example case "scenario" that could be "workshopped" by trip participants together during the session. For example: Say you are supervising an undergraduate student but are having trouble motivating the student, despite trying X, Y, Z.  Including specificity about your perception of the situation is helpful, but you need not say anything you do not feel comfortable sharing.  If used for the workshop, identities and names of people involved in the case studies will be changed, including your own identity.  Sharing a case study in this form will not guarantee that it will be used, but it will guide the Facilitator in customizing the workshop to the needs of participants (for example, finding a similar scenario to actually workshop).  If you would prefer to submit this information anonymously, please follow this link: https://forms.gle/FcFzvgPSWD6kvrxw9. Note that the only person who will have access to this form is the Workshop Facilitator (Christine Y. Chen). This information will be kept confidential and not shared beyond the Workshop Facilitator. Please reach out to the Workshop Facilitator with any questions and concerns.
