Volunteering Opportunities
We have a variety of volunteering opportunities on offer, and are working on program extensions. Which volunteer opportunities interests you? Note : WQM = Water Quality Monitoring; Macro = Macroinvertebrate

Assigned WQM Volunteer - assigned a site and test for water quality at that same site once a month.

Roving WQM Volunteer - not assigned a site, but may be called on from time to time to work across any site and support WQM testing when assigned volunteers are ill or on holidays.

School Support WQM Volunteer - support teachers and students at a Bellingen Riverwatch school to test water quality monthly.

Training Support Volunteer - once experienced with testing, supports new volunteers at training events.

Macro Volunteer - commit to attend one macro session at a time (usually held in May & September of each year)

Summer eColi Monitoring Volunteer  - gathering water samples weekly for 5 weeks from set locations across both Bellinger and Kalang catchments for eColi testing during January and February and optional eColi testing alongside OzGREEN staff member.*

Master Macro Volunteer - commit to attend every macro testing sessions (biannually, usually May & September), plus stepping into more of a leadership role, are more dedicated to the program, very excited about macroinvertebrates, get assigned a kit, take initiative to undertake testing in between sessions at a time that suits them, and will over time, become the 'knowledge holders' of the macro program.
