2020 FHS Theatre Boosters Scholarship Application

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have participated in at least two (2) Fairfax High School Theatre productions as an actor or technical support crew member.
2. Must have completed at least one (1) year of high school Theatre Arts class, or Technical Theatre class.
3. Must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher
4. Must be accepted and plan to attend an accredited college, university, conservatory, or technical school as a full-time student for the Fall 2020
5. Must plan on majoring in one of the following recognized areas of Theatre or Performing Arts:
- Performance
- Technical Theatre
- Theatre Education
- Theatre Management
6. Must not have been awarded a full academic scholarship

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: (3 Steps!)
1. Complete this online application

2. Email a copy of your unofficial transcript to fxplayersboosters@gmail.com.
**If you do not have a copy of your unofficial transcript, send Ms. Maureen Kim in the Career Center an email with the following statement: “I give Ms. Maureen Kim, Career Center Specialist, permission to email an unofficial transcript to FHS Theatre Boosters for the purpose of applying to the Fairfax High School Theatre Boosters Scholarship.” Include your name and your Student ID#. Then, Ms. Kim will forward a copy of your 7th semester transcript and cc your email address for confirmation.

3. Email your Portfolio to fxplayersboosters@gmail.com. Your Portfolio must include 3 things:
a. JPG or PDF of your Headshot
b. JPG or PDF of your Resume
c. Demonstration of your talents and/or achievements.
- For Performers, this should be a 1-minute monologue, song, or dance (MP4 or MOV file type)
- For Technical Students this should be PDF, JPG or movie files showing your drawings, models, or other visual aids to demonstrate your achievements.

SELECTION PROCESS:
The Selection Committee will consist of 5 (five) members of the FHS Theatre Boosters who are in good standing. The Committee will meet virtually to review applications. Parents of applicants may NOT serve on this committee.
Selections will be made on the basis of:
- Participation and contributions to FHS Theatre activities and events
- Academic Achievement
- Quality of Portfolio materials
- Free response to questions on application

NOTE: It is the Scholarship Recipient's responsibility to provide FHS Theatre Boosters with the correct instructions for applying the award money to your college or university.

We'd rather have too much information than too little.) *
