Global Leadership Academy Application
Thank you for your interest in the Global Leadership Academy. Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year will be accepted from April 1-19, 2024. 

At GLA, our teachers provide a challenging and highly rigorous academic environment for students through the use of project based learning. Our small campus size has a family-like feel and our students, teachers and parents work together to ensure the needs of every child is met.

Admittance into GLA is a two-step process:
  • First, students must take the gifted and talented examination. Students who are currently enrolled in Terrell ISD sit for the gifted and talented exam in early spring each year at their current campus. Students who are not currently enrolled in Terrell ISD must sit for the exam on one of the scheduled exam dates in April.  Please visit our website here to view exam dates.  Please Note: Being identified for gifted and talented services does not automatically qualify a student for GLA.
  • Second, students must apply to attend GLA. There are limited spaces at each grade level. Once available spaces are filled, students interested in GLA will be placed on a waiting list.  To view our projected openings per grade level, click here. 

Students who are accepted into GLA will be notified of their acceptance on May 30, 2024.

Qualifications for enrollment: Students must be identified as Gifted & Talented/High Achieving as determined by relevant assessments and data to be reviewed by the GLA placement committee. *

This application does not guarantee enrollment at the Global Leadership Academy. In addition to the application, the GLA placement committee will review data relevant to determining each student’s current academic standing. For transfer students (non-TISD students), parents will be responsible for providing the GLA placement committee with sufficient academic records to determine grade level proficiency. Non-TISD students must also complete an Out-of-District Transfer Request. Please contact Adam Toy (adam.toy@terrellisd.org) to request the transfer request. After receiving this application, the placement committee will follow-up with the parents of transfer students indicating what academic records are needed. *
