Sailors must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water before taking this class. A swim and capsize test is required of all students, which consists of swimming to a capsized boat, then climbing into and righting it. The sailor will be wearing a well-fitting life jacket for the entirety of the test.
COVID-19 Safety: Our COVID-19 safety guidelines follow all WA state guidelines and are subject to change
By taking this sailing course, It is understood that:  I agree to obey all program rules as set forth by the program director and the instructors, that I will use utmost care in the use of the boats and equipment, and that I will not engage in any horseplay or other disruptive behavior. Failure to attend regularly, arrive promptly, and abide by the rules may result in my suspension of the program and forfeiting the class fee.
Bring a well-fitting US Coast Guard certified Type III life jacket*, towel, change of clothes and an extra mask, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, waterproof whistle, individually packaged snacks, water in a refillable bottle, and a sack lunch. Proper closed toe footwear will be worn at all times, both on land and on the water, and a life jacket will be worn at all times when not on land. It is important that both the life jacket and shoes are comfortable and fit well.
*If a sailor cannot afford a life jacket, or their life jacket does not fit well, a loaner life jacket will be provided and the sailor will be required to use the provided life jacket. We have a limited number of loaner life jackets.

We further certify that, to the best of our knowledge, the student is in good physical condition and suffers from no physical, emotional or mental impairment that would adversely affect his/her ability to safely participate in sailing activities.
Cancellation policy: If our class is cancelled due to local COVID-19 health restrictions or if you withdraw your child for health-related reasons prior to the first day of class, your class fee will be returned to you.  If you withdraw your child for health-related reasons during the class, all but 20% of the class fee will be returned to you.  If you withdraw your child for any other reason, the entire class fee will be forfeited.
