Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Adult Programs

For adult programs held in person, all participants are REQUIRED to agree to the following:

The coronavirus (COVID-19), has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and can spread from person-to-person contact. The Writers Circle ("TWC") will use its best efforts and follow Center for Disease Control recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, TWC cannot guarantee that you or others may not become infected, exposed or otherwise contract COVID-19 while attending, participating in or otherwise engaging in any workshops, events, or activities ("Workshops") at TWC's locations or in connection with TWC's Workshops.

I recognize that there are certain inherent risks associated with participation in The Writers Circle’s Workshops regarding COVID-19, and I acknowledge that TWC cannot guarantee that I, my family member(s), or others with whom I come into contact will not become infected with COVID-19. After carefully considering the risks involved, and in consideration of TWC’s willingness to conduct Workshops in person, I voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending any of TWC's Workshops and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability and death. By signing this waiver and release, I acknowledge and agree that I a) understand the contagious nature of COVID-19; b) voluntarily assume the risk that me or anyone for whom I may be responsible may become infected, exposed or otherwise contract COVID-19 while attending, participating in or otherwise engaging in any Workshops at or in connection with The Writers Circle; and c) hereby waive, release and discharge The Writers Circle and its directors, owners, instructors, contractors, agents, heirs, or assigns from and against any and claims, injuries or liability of any kind whatsoever, including injury or death claims arising out of, relating to, or in any way connected to COVID-19, including, but not limited to claims based on allegations of negligence. *

For the safety of all concerned, I agree to comply fully with TWC's requirement that I follow ALL CDC, STATE and LOCAL health and safety RECOMMENDATIONS, as well as any additional health and safety requirements imposed by the Workshop location or The Writers Circle itself. If I fail to do so, I understand that TWC may expel me from any Workshops immediately without refund or recompense. *

I also agree to comply with CDC guidelines by STAYING HOME, as well as NOTIFYING TWC, if I test positive for COVID-19, experience symptoms, or have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 from two days prior to their diagnosis until they meet the criteria for returning to class. *

Vaccination Status: TWC STRONGLY RECOMMENDS THAT ALL IN-PERSON STUDENTS BE FULLY VACCINATED AND BOOSTED to the extent recommended by health professionals and/or the CDC.
