Purpose of Oral Histories
Written records provide a large variety of information in regard to the history of Alcoholics Anonymous. However, as expressive as written letters or journal entries might be, they lack the personal connection that can be made by listening to the author recounting their story in person. Oral histories provide the opportunity to hear fellow members' experiences in recovery not only in their own words, but in their own voice.
What to expect after submitting the Oral History Interest Form
Following submission of this Oral History Interest Form, a member of the Dulles District Archives Committee will contact you to verify and/or clarify your responses to ensure all information is accurate, provide you with planning information, and to schedule the interview with a member from the Archives Committee.

Prior to the interview, the Archives Committee will provide you with an extensive list of questions to aid you in recalling your personal story. We recommend that you review the list and outline any noteworthy memories for reference during the recording.
