Thank you so much for being willing to volunteer! Rocky Mountain is run almost exclusively by volunteers, and it takes many to do so (80 to 110). Please mark all available times, and we will fill in the schedule as needed. Remember that members of the marching band will be rehearsing from 4:00-~5:00 at Helaman Fields and will be warming up at 8:28. Times marked with an asterisk (*) are when current band members will not be available to volunteer (i.e. don't sign up for those times). All volunteers will meet just south of the chapel on Stadium Ave. and E 150 N. There are six primary areas in which volunteers are needed for Rocky Mountain on the day of the event:

1) Set-up: This will be several hours before the event. Each shift is an hour long. There will be two shifts with about 10 volunteers each. Volunteers who set up will be supervised by Rocky Mountain Committee members and assist with activities such as setting up signs and cones in the parking lot, organizing the sales table, setting up the cougar band booth, organizing the awards table on the field, setting up the water table, and anything else committee members need.

2) Water Table: Water table volunteers work at the water table under the south stands (between Gate W and Gate X) where the high school bands come off the field from their performance. There will be two volunteers each hour (hour-long shifts) from when the event begins until the last high school performs. They work together to fill water cups and hand them out to high school students. Each high school student gets one cup of water. Water table volunteers must wear a BYU T-shirt.

3) Sales Table: Must wear a BYU T-shirt. Sales table volunteers, after check-in in the west parking lot, will report to the sales table under the west stands. There they will help assist with either the running of the sales table, or with selling programs in the stands. There will be four volunteers per shift (hour-long shifts). If they are at the table they will help track all sales made. All money will be placed in the cash box, and inventory will be tracked using the excel sheet. All money collected will be placed in an envelope provided. After they sell a few programs they should report back to the sales table so that the money can be placed in the cash box.

4) Cougar Band Booth: Volunteers at the cougar band booth will work in a BYU T-shirt. There will be three volunteers each hour with hour-long shifts. Band booth volunteers, after check-in in the west parking lot, will report to the band information booth under the west stands. They should feel very comfortable answering any questions pertaining to the BYU Marching Band. The table will have pamphlets if the volunteer needs to refresh themselves on information relating to auditions, scholarships, or participation requirements. Their main job is to represent the band well.

5) High School Band Host: The band host positions should begin 15 minutes before the warm-up time of each high school band, and end roughly 15 minutes after the performance should end--shifts are a little under 2 hours total. Band hosts will represent the BYU Cougar Marching Band as they lead high school bands to their warm-up area, transitions, and performance area. They should keep a watch (or phone) with the official time (used by the judges) so they can inform the band when it is time to transition between areas. Band hosts must wear a BYU T-shirt.

6) High School Pit Host: The pit host remains with the full band (and the band host) during the warm-up time, but takes the pit the correct way through Gate 5 when it is time to perform. Pit hosts must wear a BYU T-shirt. They should keep a watch (or phone) with the official time (used by the judges) so they can inform the band when it is time to transition between areas.

We will try to station you at the primary location you chose, but we may need to make adjustments based on the number of volunteers. Thank you all so much for volunteering!
