EXPRESSION OF INTEREST:                           Scientists Taking Astronomy to Regional Schools with Music and Physics (STARSMAP) program
The STARS program is funded through an Inspiring Australia Maker Project Community STEM Engagement grant and is a collaboration between the Centre of Excellence for All Sky Astrophysics in 3D (ASTRO 3D) and the Australian National University (ANU).

Between March 2023 and April 2025, ANU astrophysicist and science communicator Dr Brad Tucker, Indigenous astronomer Pete Swanton and Professor Kim Cunio (Head of School of Music ANU) will visit rural, regional and remote schools in each state and territory. They will do presentations, talks and star-gazing evenings with schools and their communities. An 8" Dobsonian telescope and accessories will be gifted to most schools.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to visit every school that provides an EOI but it will be great to know who is keen, and we will try to develop a program of visits over the coming 2 years.
