YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH POOLS
We are looking for writers with experience in the pool industry. Having said that, don't stress if don't know answers to some of the questions below and just skip them.
How many pools have you helped install (or installed yourself), repaired, maintained or generally performed work on?
Also briefly describe the kind of work you've done. Thanks.
In your view, is there something a lot of pool owners don't understand/get wrong? Something you wish was more common knowledge?
Think of yourself as a teacher of pool owners.
Are there controversial products on the market that pool owners like to purchase but which haven't been proven to work/are kind of a 'scam'?
Maybe you have a pet-peeve in this respect?
Is there a brand selling pool-related products that you prefer over others? Why? Is there one you wouldn't recommend? Why not?
What products? Think above ground pools, pumps, filters, heaters, lights etc. Be brief.
What would be your considerations when selecting the right automatic pool vacuum cleaner for you?
Very briefly describe which type you would go for and why. What's your thought process here?
ARE YOU AN EXPERT? (Voluntary section.)
This part is voluntary and a bit more technical.
Can you sort different types of pool heaters according the actual heat output that they're capable of (their 'umpf')?
Think of your own pool (or one you know well): Which type of heater would you recommend for it and why? How well would it cope? By how much do you think it would extend the swimming season? Can you calculate a very rough estimate of how much it would cost to run it and why?
No need to research exact figures. Just want to know your thought process.
YOUR WRITING EXPERIENCE
Any experience with writing is appreciated. The more relevant in type (internet-style reviews, blog posts etc.) and in theme (pool maintenance, pool service, pool-related products), the better.
What is your experience with writing? Provide samples if possible. *
What kind of writing have you done? Are there texts published online that you wrote? Please provide links to up to 3 samples if possible.
FINAL QUESTIONS
Why do you want to work with us? *
Please briefly describe why you're applying to this position.
What is your current capacity? *
How much time can you currently devote to writing for us?
What is your rate? *
How much do you charge for your writing? It's most useful when given in USD cents/word. Please note that the author's rate is a strong factor in the hiring procedure so remember to be competitive.
Would you like to ask us anything?
Any comments are welcome too.
Lastly and voluntarily, if you browse LeisureRate.com, is there any feedback you'd like to give us?
Positive or negative. You can talk briefly about something we wrote but you don't agree with and why. Please only focus on pool-related matters (not boats, massage chairs etc.)
