Block Scheduling Survey-Parents
The Valley View School District is undergoing an in-depth study of the costs and effectiveness of the current block schedule (Two semester/Four Period Days) in comparison to a modified block schedule (Full Year/Alternating Days or Periods) or a traditional schedule (Full Year/Seven Period Days.)

As a preliminary step, we are asking parents/guardians of current high school students to participate in the survey below.  The survey should not take more than 5-10 minutes.  Survey results will be used to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement in the student schedule.

Clear selection
Overall, in my opinion, the most beneficial schedule for students is *
I would prefer the school continue to implement the current Block Schedule. Students attend four 86 minute class periods in the Fall Semester, then in the Spring Semester begin four new classes for 86 minutes each. *
I would prefer that the school modify the current block schedule to an A/B Block Schedule. Students would  attend 86 minute long classes all year on alternating days and/or have a combination of 86 and 43 minute periods throughout the year. *
I would prefer the school adopt a traditional schedule. The traditional schedule is defined as a full year of 7 class periods per day lasting approximately 45 minutes each period. *
