CIT classes are free to attend. $950 Mini-grants are to help offset overtime, travel expenses, or other costs that a law enforcement agency may incur as a result of sending an officer to a 40-hour CIT class. Indiana law enforcement agencies may apply for funds under the following conditions:
BY APPLYING FOR A CIT INDIANA MINI-GRANT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THE FOLLOWING:

The CIT class that is attended must be one that is recognized by NAMI Indiana as meeting fidelity with CIT
•
You are responsible for contacting the local CIT coordinator to see if they have space in their class and register the person attending. Contact information for the local CIT coordinators can be found here:

The officer(s) attending must be a law enforcement officer as defined by Indiana Code 5-2-1-2(1)

Following the CIT class, NAMI Indiana must receive confirmation from the hosting CIT coordinator that the officer(s) attended the full 40 hour class before reimbursement will be made.

Your department has fewer than 30% of your LEOs CIT-trained, or it is a small or rural department
•
The person completing this application is doing so with the knowledge and approval of an authorizing administrator within the law enforcement agency/department

Applying for a CIT Indiana mini-grant does not guarantee approval or payment of funds•
