We utilize reading aloud and performing arts activities to boost confidence and literacy to empower the voices of our children and youth. Each session commences with vocal and articulation exercises for clear speech. Using microphones, our teaching artist and the children read books aloud, imparting positive values and emotional skills. Following the readings, we discuss the stories, engage in role-play to deepen comprehension, and conclude the session by learning and creating educational/motivational songs. Finally, we produce a private video documenting the program and culminate with a showcase for families and the community.
Out of an abundance of caution to protect the safety of our community and this activity being held outdoors, spacing of each registrant will be followed. Hand sanitizers will be on hand and masks are optional.
Please arrive to the event 5 minutes early to check in and get your water!
Adults, help us be environmentally conscious and please bring your own refillable containers for water as there is a functioning water fountain near the restrooms.
WEATHER: We may cancel classes in the event of lightning, heavy rain, or heat above 90 degrees. We will try to reschedule. Please call or text Joyce Daniel (313-516-5720) for any concerns.
