University of Nebraska Dance Marathon (UNDM) is a student-run philanthropic movement that supports Children’s health and desires that no Nebraska family has to fight their child’s pediatric illness or injury alone. We educate the community about children's health and the financial need of our local Children’s Hospital who provides critical treatments, pediatric medical equipment, and charitable care for hundreds of Nebraska kids each year. We do this by facilitating programming and fundraising activities on campus and in the community and by dancing for all of the Nebraska Kids who can’t.
This video further describes what Dance Marathon is.
Our mission is to raise money and awareness for the hospital that performs miracles every day and for every child who might not get to live the same care-free childhood that many of us were fortunate enough to have. We dance for the kids who can't. Last year, we were able to raise over $230,000 and celebrated our 19th year as an organization on the UNL campus. After fundraising throughout the year, we celebrate in February with HuskerThon: a celebratory event dedicated to honoring the miracle kids at the heart of this organization. This year, we celebrate 20 years as an organization and plan to build on this momentum and continue to foster the culture and community that UNDM is all about. We incorporate fundraising, service, philanthropy, and social events to serve a common goal of being a part of something greater than ourselves.
