KTM Survey: Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur Services
We are preparing for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services at KTM. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Yamim Noraim at KTM will look different this year than it has in previous years. We are continuously monitoring the coronavirus situation in MA, and are planning services with safety as our first priority.

The coronavirus continues to provide challenges to our community, in planning our observance of holidays and rituals. We are currently gathering information to help us make plans. This is only one part of the process of preparation, and there may be additional questionnaires, phone calls, and/or meetings to follow. With this effort, we are requesting information from those who are hoping to attend High Holiday services in Brighton and/or pray at home, in order to provide as many meaningful and pleasant opportunities as we can.

Please answer the following questions, for each member of your household, as best as you can. This information will guide our preparations, and is not considered a final “reservation” or commitment. The number of services that are held will ultimately be limited by the amount of space we have, and the number of minyanim that we are able to generate. (For example, if we have 12 men, that would be one minyan, and 36 men would allow three minyanim).

Notes:
- All services would include masks, social distancing, and there will be no singing or sermon, and space will be very limited.
- The sermon will be delivered by email prior to the start of each holiday, including a text that can be printed and a video that can be viewed on YouTube.
- The outdoor services will be under a canopy, which will provide some shade and some protection from rain.
- Services will be shortened in accordance with halachic guidance for safety and practical reasons.
- Answer these questions to the best of your ability now under the assumption that Massachusetts COVID infection levels stay roughly the same from now through September.
- At the end of the questionnaire, there will be a space to write comments or questions, such as “I will not participate if it rains.”

Please call (516-659-7349) or email (rabbi@ktmshul.org) Rabbi Strauss if you have any questions or concerns.
