The 2022 Region 4 American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) Conference will be held in person at the Florida State University College of Medicine on October 22, 2022. We invite undergraduate, graduate, MD, PA, and other students with research fitting our topic to submit your abstract using this form. By submitting your abstract to this meeting, you are agreeing that we may distribute your abstract as part of the 2022 AMWA Region 4 Conference content via an online portal or in print should the need arise.
DEADLINES
The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, September 30th, by 5 pm EST. Applicants will be notified of the decision on their submission by the latest of Monday, October 3rd.
Accepted abstracts will be invited to present a poster at the conference. Judges will decide on the winners of first, second, and third place.
RESEARCH TOPICS
Research that aligns with AMWA’s priority topics are especially encouraged and will be graded as such. These include:
- Sex and Gender-Specific Medicine
- Technology & Innovation
- Gender Equity
- Work-Life Issues (including Physician Infertility)
- Physician Wellness & Burnout (including Medical Humanities)
- Public Health Initiatives: Gun Violence Prevention, Opioid Addiction / Pain Management, Human Trafficking, Obesity, Cervical Cancer Eradication, Women’s Health
- Medical Education & Training
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by the beginning of October. To meet submission criteria, please review the following in detail:
- Each abstract must be submitted using this application form.
- Approval must be obtained from ALL authors before the abstract is submitted. A confirmation email will be sent to each author following submission receipt.
- One of the authors, preferably the first author, must be available to present at the conference.
- The abstract must be 2,000 characters or less (including spaces, excluding title and author names). No graphics or tables are allowed in the online submission form.
- There is a one-time, non-refundable $30 poster application fee.
- Formatting:
- Research Abstracts: Background/Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions
- Quality Improvement or Innovation Abstracts: Background, Intervention/Innovation, Results, Conclusion
- Clinical Case Reports: Case Description, Conclusions, Clinical Significance
