"Parenting with Purpose" is designed to provide support, knowledge and connection for parents with students in grades 3-8. Even prior to COVID, this stage of childhood can prompt questions and challenges for parents and this pandemic year has not only exacerbated natural challenges but also introduced new ones. In this class, we’ll balance discussing child development as well as situational stress prompted by the pandemic. The class will start with several topics chosen by the Parent Educator which are relevant to this period of childhood, such as Relationships, Motivation and Media, and will ask parents to suggest additional topics that are most relevant right now.  The class will be a combination of presentation as well as discussion and the hope is that parents will finish this class equipped with new appreciation for their children, new strategies for effective communication and several new connections within the community. Parenting at any age isn’t meant to be done alone and if you’re a parent looking to get connected to others in a similar stage, this is the group for you.

Columbia Heights Public Schools Quarter 3 ENCORE "Parenting with Purpose" runs Feb 9, 16, 23 and March 2, 9, 16 and 23. This will be a virtual class that runs from 6-7 p.m. on Tuesdays for parents that have students in grades 3-8. Classes will be held live on Zoom with a Parent Educator.

You will receive a confirmation regarding enrollment with more details  as well as any specific information about this class. Filling out this form does not guarantee you a spot in "Parenting with Purpose." We will do our best, but due to space may not be able to accommodate everyone.

Registration due by Wednesday, Feb. 3. You will get a class confirmation by Feb. 5 via email.
