“Fascism and Anti-Semitism, Then and Now.”

Judge Bruce Einhorn

-   Brief Description of the Presentation:  "I'll speak to my experience as a Nazi war crimes prosecutor during the Cold War in Europe and the Soviet Union.....and my post-1990 experience as a professor of international and refugee law and an activist with the Anti-Defamation League.  If anything, authoritarianism, white and Christian nationalism and anti-Semitism, especially in the US, are on the rise since the fall of the USSR.  Why?"

Bruce's biography:

"The Honorable Bruce J. Einhorn served as a United States Immigration Judge and Presiding Immigration Judge in Los Angeles from 1990 through 2007.  During his tenure, he heard thousands of cases, including asylum and terrorist proceedings. Judge Einhorn was the principal author of the Refugee Act of 1980, the modern U.S. law of asylum and refugee protection.

From 1979 through 1990, Bruce Einhorn served as special prosecutor and Chief of Litigation at the US Department of Justice’s Office of Special Investigations, the agency responsible for identifying and prosecuting fugitive Nazi war criminals in the US.  In that capacity, he conducted depositions and negotiations in the USSR and Eastern and Western Europe.

Judge Einhorn is now the only American Fellow of the Royal Institute of International Affairs and a consultant on foreign policy and immigration matters.”
