Classes
Green Circle Preschool offers classes 5 days a week, with classes broken into a Monday, Wednesday, Friday group and a Tuesday, Thursday group.

You may register your child for one or both of these classes. The class schedule and recommended ages for each group are:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:  9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (4 year olds)
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (3 year olds)
Fees for September 2024 – June 2025 year
Monthly fees charged via online autopay:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday Class: $190/month* 
Tuesday/Thursday Class: $140/month*
Monday-Friday Class: $330/month*

Charged at the time of registration:
Registration Fee (non-refundable): $50/year 
Field Trip Fee: $40/year 
Fundraising Bond (refundable if reached fundraising goal): $120/year 

*Note: Under the new Childcare Act, parents will see cost savings for preschools via the Affordability Grant (amount per family based on registration numbers), as well as the Parent Subsidy for $125/month for qualifying families.  Savings will be reflected on monthly invoices.
Withdrawals
Thirty (30) days written notice must be submitted to the registrar for withdrawals. Withdrawals submitted
with less notice will result in the forfeit of one month’s fee. The written notice must be received before the first day of the month prior to withdrawal.
Registration Process
  1. Families who wish to register may indicate their interest by filling out the webform at www.greencirclepreschool.com. 
  2. Following submission of the webform, families will receive an email from Lillio, Green Circle Preschool’s companion app, inviting them to complete registration and submit required documents through its online portal.  
  3. Upon receipt of a complete application and all supporting documentation, an invoice for registration fees will be generated in Lillio, and families will be notified by email to complete their online account and confirm a payment option.  Please note that Green Circle Preschool requires all families to enable Lillio’s autopay feature as a condition of enrolment.
  4. Once payment has been received, children will be enrolled into the program on a first-come, first-served basis.  

IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING REGISTRATION

Green Circle requires all registrations to be completed within seven (7) days of the submission of the webform.  After seven days, incomplete registrations will be discarded, and families will be required to restart the registration process. 

To ensure an orderly start to the school year, the application process will be paused for the 14 days leading up to the first day of school.  While payments can be made during this time, registration packages will not be reviewed; any applications received during this time will be defaulted to a mid-September start date.

Enrolment Policies
  1. Enrolment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. All children must be three (3) years of age to attend but are not required to start the program in September. Children with fall birthdays (up to and including December 31) are welcome to join the program on their third birthday.
  3. Children must be fully immunized (according to the AHS standard immunization schedule or a documented medical reason for non-immunization must be provided). 
  4. Children must be fully toilet trained. If this is an issue for your child, please discuss with the teacher.
Parental Responsibilities

Green Circle is a high quality, non-profit preschool run on a relatively low budget enabled by its co-operative structure. Families are encouraged to participate in their child’s early leaning, and required to participate in at least one of several assigned jobs throughout the year.

Assigned Jobs: Each family will be assigned at least one job that they will be responsible for throughout the year. See Assigned Jobs section below for more information. 

Mandatory attendance at meetings: There will be an orientation meeting early in September, two general meetings (November & January) and one annual general meeting in April. The purpose of these meetings is to pass on information and discuss business relating to the preschool. Families are expected to send one representative to each meeting. 

Fundraising: Although most of our budgeted income results from monthly fees, fundraising is an important activity to maintain the high quality of classroom activities and reduce the cost of monthly fees. Green Circle is pleased to offer our fundraising bond as an option for families who do not wish to fundraise or who do not fundraise enough to meet our preschool budget. Families pay a refundable $120 at the time of registration, which will be refunded by the treasurer near the end of the school year if the family meets or exceeds its fundraising goal (set by the executive in September). 

Snack: Each child should bring a labelled individual snack and water bottle from home.  Nuts are prohibited due to children with allergies. 

Drop-off and Pick-up: You must be punctual in dropping your child off at 9:00AM, and picking your child up at the end of class at 11:30AM. If our teacher does not know the person picking up the child, ID will be required. 

Please do not enroll your child if you are not able to fulfill these commitments.

Completing these duties is the responsibility of the parent(s), however we will happily accommodate grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends as designates. Please inform your replacement about the details of your duties.  Please feel free to address any concerns with the Executive Board and teacher in person or via email at executive@greencirclepreschool.com and  teacher@greencirclepreschool.com. 

*NOTE* Green Circle Preschool follows all current COVID-19 Provincial Guidelines, in addition to the Policies from the Edmonton Public School Board. The above parental duties may be adjusted as necessary to adhere to public health guidelines and policies. 


Other Notables
Under the current COVID-19 Provincial Guidelines and Policies from the Edmonton Public School Board, parents are once again permitted to enter the school.  That said, to support the establishment of classroom routine for Green Circle students, pick ups and drop offs will be done outdoors every day, and parents are asked to remain outside.  Once a routine is established, Green Circle teachers will invite parents to sign up as parent helpers, and those helping on a given day will be invited into the classroom. 

Our licensing and insurance regulations DO NOT allow siblings to accompany parents to attend field trips. 

Children must have an indoor only pair of shoes with non-slip soles with closed toes, which will remain in the classroom. 

Children must bring labeled, weather-appropriate outdoor clothing, as they spend a portion of each day outside (weather permitting). 

The teacher is to be advised if your child has been exposed to a communicable disease (i.e. COVID-19, lice, strep throat, pink eye). The registrar and the teacher are to be informed of any allergies or other conditions. 

Please keep ill children home to prevent the spread of viruses. 

Any information disclosed to Green Circle Preschool may be shared with third parties as required.
