Release of Liability for Access and Herbicide Use Agreement Form- Knotweed and Giant Hogweed
The Coastal Invasive Species Committee can provide a certified herbicide applicator to target and remove Knotweed and/or Giant Hogweed species with a primary treatment during the spring/summer, and a follow up treatment using Glyphosate during the summer/fall. Typically, multi-year treatment is required to eradicate it.

Trials to date have shown that herbicide is the most effective means to control both Knotweed and Giant hogweed species.

The Invasive Species Council of BC in conjunction with the BC Government has stated that the “Chemical control with a systemic herbicide is the recommended treatment strategy for knotweeds due to their extensive root structure and aggressive growth and reproduction. This treatment method is the easiest, most cost effective, and successful treatment method.”
