All entrants agree to the following terms in connection with their participation in The Winning Pitch Challenge:

Entry Fees: The Winning Pitch Challenge does not have an entry fee.

Withdrawal Penalty: If a confirmed finalist FAILS TO PROCEED OR OTHERWISE DROPS OUT FOR ANY REASON, they and their company will be ineligible to compete in The Winning Pitch Challenge for two years.

Non-confidentiality: Due to the nature of the competition, we are not able to ask judges, reviewers, staff, or the audience to agree to or sign non-disclosure statements. As a result, all data and other information submitted, discussed or otherwise disclosed by entrants during The Winning Pitch Challenge should be considered information that will enter the public realm, and entrants should not expect any right of confidentiality in any such data or information. All presentations are open to event attendees, and some presentations may be videotaped. Ideas not protected by patents may be vulnerable if shared publicly or privately.

Copyrights and Permissions: If an entrant uses copyrighted materials and/or images from a third-party in any of their submissions or presentations, they must take all steps necessary to obtain permission and authorization in advance from the respective owners to use this material.
Information submitted to, and presented at, The Winning Pitch Challenge is the sole responsibility of the submitter/presenter. The Winning Pitch Challenge has not taken, and does not intend to take, any steps to verify the adequacy, accuracy or completeness of any information, materials or statements presented by the submitter/presenter. The submitter/presenter, and not The Winning Pitch Challenge, is solely responsible for ensuring the submitter/presenter’s compliance with all applicable federal, state and other securities laws, and it is solely the submitter/presenter’s responsibility to comply with any of such laws that are applicable. The Winning Pitch Challenge does not give investment advice, endorsement, analysis or recommendations with respect to any securities and is not a broker, venture fund or an investment advisor.

Use of Conference Materials: The Winning Pitch Challenge, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and/or American Academy of Ophthalmology reserve the right to use any materials provided or created in connection with submitter/presenter’s participation in  The Winning Pitch Challenge, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and/or American Academy of Ophthalmology, for the purpose of publicizing and promoting the event or future events. The Winning Pitch Challenge, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and/or American Academy of Ophthalmology may use these materials in any printed materials and any videotape or other medium that they may produce.  The Winning Pitch Challenge, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and/or American Academy of Ophthalmology may videotape any portion of the Competition and utilize these tapes in any way that its sees fit.

Changes to Competition Rules: While not anticipated, these rules and prizes are subject to substitution or change at the discretion of The Winning Pitch Challenge at any time without the consent of any participant. The Winning Pitch Challenge staff has the right to interpret these rules according to its sole judgment.

Decisions regarding the Competition and the Winners: All decisions regarding the competition rules, procedures, and processes are at the sole discretion of The Winning Pitch Challenge. Changes and/or interpretations of these rules may be made by The Winning Pitch Challenge at any time, even though they may be (or may appear to be) in conflict some previously published information. The selection of the teams to compete and the decision of the winners are at the sole discretion of the judges and The Winning Pitch Challenge. Best efforts will be made to make decisions in accordance with this Official Rules document.
