(BYLP) PARENT AMBASSADOR APPLICATION
We know that traditionally parents of Black children find themselves frustrated when trying to navigate the educational system.  We know that traditionally the Black community is seen as emotional and yet not consistent.  It is assumed that Black parents show up, blow up at administration in response to how their child/ren were treated and then the anger subsides, the parents disappear and the District returns back to regularly scheduled programming.
WE SAY NAH!  Game Over!! The Parent Ambassadors is our answer to the Districts neglect of our children and their specific issues.  The policies of benign neglect continue to affect Black children harsher than any other student group.

Through the Parent Ambassador Program, parents will have the opportunity to build and use their leadership skills in support of improving local campuses by engaging educational policies and practices that benefit Black students. The program enhances the skills, knowledge, and confidence of parents necessary to create meaningful change in their schools and community. Parents will have the opportunity to impact K-12 educational policy relating to discipline and campus climate, while developing relationships with other parents with identical concerns.  The TRUTH IS THE DISTRICTS ARE FAILING OUR CHILDREN and we POSSESS the POWER to do SOMETHING about it!!
