Multi-centre Audit of Virtual Fracture Clinics in the United Kingdom pre- and post- national lockdown in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (MAVCOV): Collaborator Application
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Multi-centre Audit of Virtual Fracture Clinics pre- and post-COVID-19 lockdown (MAVCOV) audit.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to national alterations in discharge rates for patients presenting with acute orthopaedic traumatic injuries with onward referral to a virtual fracture clinic (VFC). It is not clear how this will impact on the management of a variety of orthopaedic injuries as well as patient safety and satisfaction.

Aims: This national multi-centre audit aims to primarily assess the impact of COVID-19 on
i. Adherence to the British Orthopaedic Association Standards for Trauma (BOASTs)
ii. Epidemiology of injuries managed at the VFC
iii. Orthopaedic immobilisation techniques
iv. Unplanned re-attendances or subsequent changes in management following VFC discharge
v. Patient satisfaction and patient reported outcome measures following VFC discharge
vi. Cost-effectiveness of VFC

Hospital eligibility: Any hospital in the UK with a Virtual Fracture Clinic (VFC), also referred to as a Trauma Triage Clinic (TTC) or Trauma Assessment Clinic (TAC).

Team: Individual hospital teams up to five people, who can be consultants, trainees, doctors or medical students, collecting data for a total of four weeks.

Authorship: Participation in this project results in collaborative authorship on all publications, with a PubMed citable ID attributed to all collaborators.
