Drug manufacturers are increasingly restricting access to life-saving medication for the uninsured and underinsured Floridians dispensed through the 340B program. By refusing to allow Community Health Centers to dispense medications to their patients in contract pharmacy settings, the harmful reduction in access to these affordable medicines is threatening the patient's health, safety, and fiscal stability directly and indirectly. While it means patients must dig deeper into their pockets to pay for these critical drugs, it also means that the resources such as increased providers, services, or hours of operation are made available to patients through the reinvestment of the 340B savings into the CHC are significantly impacted – or even eliminated.
