Kearney Public Schools is excited to be able to offer beginning strings instruction to students starting in the 5th grade! Orchestra is a year-long elective class that teaches violin, viola, and cello. Orchestra class meets once a week for 30 minutes during the school day. Students interested in joining orchestra should complete the form below. Parents will be emailed more information about the program once the student is enrolled. Students will be asked to obtain their own instrument for orchestra. Instruments can be rented at Yanda's Music (Kearney) or The Violin Shop (Lincoln). Students will participate one recital at the end of the school year, unless such events are restricted by the school district.

I understand that I will need to provide an instrument & materials for my student to participate in orchestra, and that instruments purchased on eBay or Amazon are not appropriate for class use (you will be asked to find a replacement).
