Just Between Friends Houston South (Pearland/Bay Area)
Valet Tagging Program - Consignor Overview

Purpose of the Program: To help busy parents tag and prep their items to sell at JBF.

In a nutshell: You take your quality, sale-ready items to a Valet Tagger to prep your items, and they even take them to the sale for you!

Benefits of Using Valet Tagging:

•    You get to sell your items and make money without doing much work.

•    You get the pricing and prepping expertise of someone who has tagged for many sales and many consignors.

•    You avoid piles of clothes and toys in your house while you search for time to tag.

•    Your kids will not be removing items from your bins (returning them to the playroom).

•    You can drop off your items with your tagger and never see them again--unless you wish to pick them up after the sale.

Program Overview:

•     Consignors earn 40% on their sold items minus the $12 consignor fee (which all consignors pay) and supplies fees (as noted below based on # of items).  Consignors who help at the sale by completing a minimum of one 4 hour shift at the sale will boost sales to 45%.

•     Valet Tagger will be paid through JBF – JBF will divert the percentage and supply fee from your consignor check to the tagger, so there is NO UPFRONT COST.

•     Tagging supplies are provided by the tagger for a fee of 10 cents per non-clothing item and 20 cents per clothing item, with a minimum of $15 supply fee per consignor. If the consignor brings hangers, the supply fee for those items drops to 10 cents.

•     Taggers are responsible for pricing. Consignors can adjust no more than 5% of their total items.

•    All items will be required to go half price with the exception of items subject to price changes (which would fall under the 5% total as stated above).

•     All items rejected for not meeting JBF quality standards will be donated to a charity of the tagger’s choice.

•     Consignors have the option of donating or picking up their unsold items, so make sure your tagger knows if you will be donating your unsold items.

•     The valet tagger will be paid their percentage on all items tagged under the consignor number they are provided. Consignors who wish to tag some of their own items will need to utilize a separate consignor number.

•     The valet tagger will pick up one time within a 20 mile radius, and after that additional items the consignor wishes to sell can be dropped off to the valet tagger.

Process in Detail:

1. Clean out your closets and play rooms! Find the new or gently used items you wish to sell. Make sure all items are in working order and free of stains, holes, odors, dust and dirt before drop off. Please sort clothing by size prior to dropping off. Batteries must be included in all items as they are NOT part of the supplies that will be provided.

2. If more than ½ of your items do not meet JBF quality standards, tagger can choose to stop the tagging process and you will be responsible for picking up your items.

3. Register with www.jbfsale.com/myjbfprofile to participate in the Houston South sale.

4. Complete this Registration Form and Liability Waiver to be put on the list for a tagger in the Valet Tagging program.

5. Once you have been in contact with your valet tagger, schedule a time for the tagger to get your items.

6. Items will be inspected, prepped, and tagged by your valet tagger.

7. All items will be entered based on the tagger’s knowledge and expertise in pricing and JBF pricing guidelines. All items will be marked to go half price. Consignor can give guidelines ahead of time on pricing to make this process easy.

8. You will be notified when the valet tagger has inspected your items, entered the item description, and prices into the JBF website. Once notified, you will have 24 hours to review the items. You can change up to a maximum of 5% of the item prices without incurring extra fees. Changing items to remain full price will be counted as a change toward the 5% maximum.

9. After you review the pricing, your items will be tagged by the valet tagger.

10. Login to your account at www.jbfsale.com/myjbfprofile and monitor your sales throughout the event.

11. If you choose, pickup your items on Sunday, April 28 during the pick-up window of 3pm-5pm. Any items not picked up during the regular consignor pick up window will be donated.

12. Wait for your check to arrive. Checks will be sent within 14 days of the conclusion of the sale (usually earlier). Checks will be sent via email unless other arrangements have been made prior to the conclusion of the sale.

13. Valet consignors earn 40% of what sells rather than the customary 60%, minus the $12 consignor fee that ALL consignors pay. (Average clothing item price is $3-$4).

14. Consignors can boost to 45% by Joining the Team and participating for a minimum of 4 hours at the sale. Consignor agrees to pay the remaining percentage to the valet tagger to compensate them for their work, and gives consent for JBF to divert the money to valet tagger on their behalf. NOTE: Most consignment shops pay 25% of what they will sell items for.

15. Consignor will reimburse valet tagger for all the supplies with a supply fee that JBF passes from the consignor to the tagger: 10 cents per non-clothing item and 20 cents per clothing item, with a minimum of $15 supply fee per consignor. If the consignor brings hangers, the supply fee for those items drops to 10 cents.

I understand and agree that JBF Houston South, Just Between Friends Franchise Systems, Inc., and Pearland Knights of Columbus are not responsible for any and all claims of personal injury resulting from the JBF Houston South sale.

I understand that I will earn 40% of my gross sales, less a $12 Consignor Fee & supply fee of 10 cents per non-clothing item and 20 cents per clothing item, with a minimum of $15 supply fee per consignor. If I bring hangers, the supply fee for those items drops to 10 cents.

I further understand that I will be charged a fee of $1.00 per battery for sizes AA and AAA and $2.00 per battery for sizes C and D.

I understand that Valet Consignors who help with the sale for a minimum of four (4) hours will earn an extra 5% of his/her gross sales.

I understand that the valet tagger will get 25% in payment for their tagging services (paid out of the remaining 60%).

I also agree to have JBF deduct the supply fee from my consignor check and pay that amount to my tagger on my behalf.

I understand that JBF is merely providing an administrative service to me and that I am receiving the benefit of the tagging services from the valet tagger and am ultimately responsible for paying the tagger for these services.

I understand that I am responsible for providing the tagger with items that are in new or gently used condition.  Items that do not meet JBF’s quality standards will be rejected by the tagger.

I authorize the tagger to donate rejected items to the charity of their choice and understand that I will not receive a tax receipt or other benefit from this donation unless arranged prior to drop off.

I understand JBF Houston South will sell the items I am consigning for the price listed on the barcode tags I have created. I understand that the price sold will be controlled by the printed tag attached to the item & not any subsequent changes online. I understand that if I marked a different price on the tag, the item will be sold for what it was originally printed for.

I verify that no item I am consigning is the subject of any current, pending or threatened recall notice according to the Consumer Products Safety Commission.

I understand that if I am consigning a Car Seat, a Car Seat Base, a Booster Seat, or a Crib, that I must provide the appropriate waiver attached to the item when dropping off with the Valet Tagger. These can be found on the JBF Houston South website.

Any repaired item was repaired by the original manufacturer or in accordance with the original manufacturer's warranty program. I know of no reason why any item offered for sale by me would cause injury to another.

Each item is clean, in good operating condition & is not defective, broken or damaged in any way. If any item is purchased and returned because it is defective, is missing parts or does not work, I will not be paid any amount for the sale of that item.

I understand that Consignor pickup is Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 3pm-5pm. I understand that all remaining items not picked-up are to be given to our non-profit partner, Forgotten Angels.
