Fostering with Mattie's Place helps to save the lives of pets in need. We are primarily a dog rescue, but do welcome cats periodically.
Without foster homes, we can not help the pets that we do, as we do not have a shelter space.
Fostering is a commitment to your pet. It can be a bumpy ride sometimes, when pets join foster homes, but to play a part in saving the life of a pet in need is such an incredible feeling.
Mattie's Place is a volunteer run organization and if the foster dog you are caring for is not working out, we need time to find a new suitable foster home. I can not move any dog, right now, unfortunately, unless someone's life or the foster's life, is in danger. It could take up to one week for Mattie's Place to make alternate arrangements for your foster dog. Mattie's Place will make every effort to move your foster from your home, as soon as possible, but you must commit to a dog until another foster space is secured.
Mattie's Place supplies all food, leashes/harness/collar, toys, dishes, poop bags, crate if needed. We transport dogs to vet appointments and meet and greets. You do not need a vehicle to foster for Mattie's Place.
We allow foster homes with children, other pets, no backyards dependant on dogs needs. Preference for work from home, or home most often is given as dogs could exhibit separation anxiety.
Once you've completed this foster application, please keep watch for an upcoming email from Mattie's Place (check your spam folder) where you'll be added to our group email foster list. From there, you'll find instructions on next steps to becoming an approved foster home with Mattie's Place and information on the incoming dogs needing foster homes.
