At what age/stage in life did you learn Hebrew?
As English only speakers, oftentimes we don’t have an appreciation of davening and what we are saying. We say the words but don’t think to understand them, because it is hard. As someone who speaks Hebrew and understands it, is it easier to concentrate and relate more to tefilla?
When there are tunes in davening that don’t fit the meaning of the word do you notice it more inherently? Ex: Do you notice if Al Naharos Bavel would be set to a fast, upbeat tune? Would it bother you?
When there are tunes in davening that break up sentences wrong do you notice it more inherently? Do you notice when a chazan does it in shul?
