ASME Heat Sink Challenge 2023-24
As part of this design challenge you will be asked to design, build, and validate an aluminum heat sink made with Additive Manufacturing techniques graciously made available to us by GE.  Competition guidelines will be released soon.

After receiving the guidelines, you will the have to prepare a white paper that justifies your design due on Feb 4, 2024. This can be done with preliminary test results, modelling, empirical correlations, etc. The top white papers and designs will be selected to print their part with GE Additive machines in the spring. The semi-finalist teams may need to revise their designs to meet printing requirements during approximately the window of Feb 18 - 24, 2024.

Those heat sinks will then be sent for testing in order to determine the top designs with finalists notified on April 30, 2024. These top teams will receive partial travel support to enable one member to travel to ITHERM (in Orlando, FL from May 28 – 31, 2024) where they will defend their design in front of academic and industry leaders.  From those oral presentations, the champion will be crowned!  Good luck!
