This assessment is for Mandarin Voyagers Level 1 which corresponds to YCT Book 1. In turn, Voyagers Level 1/YCT Book 1 corresponds to the YCT Level 1 exam.

For Mandarin Voyagers, we use the Youth Chinese Test (YCT) curriculum, an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency. It assesses young students' abilities to use Chinese as second language in their daily and academic lives.

While the YCT curriculum is designed by Hanban (汉办), part of the Chinese Education ministry, Panda Mandarin has selected this series independently because of its easy to follow approach for young students and international recognition.

At Panda Mandarin, the Mandarin Voyagers program can help students prepare to write YCT exam, although this is not mandatory. Students who are not taking the exam but are interested in an academic approach of learning Mandarin can also enroll in this program.
