Introduction
This policy relates to all Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) associated with Christ the King (CTK) North Rocks, the Catholic School Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) network, any collaborating social media sites and personal devices brought in from home.

ICT hardware include computers, laptops, iPads, chromebooks, printers, Apple TVs, TV Screens, document cameras, scanners, digital cameras, data projectors, media equipment, speakers, internet and email facilities (including the google suite), Interactive Whiteboards, any coding manipulatives, smart watches and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD).

The school provides learning technologies for our students and teachers specifically for educational purposes directly related to teaching and learning. The school accepts that all students have equal right to access learning technologies according to their age and stage of development. Teachers agree to take all possible care to supervise students using the hardware and software provided at the school.

Learning technologies open the door to a vast amount of information, entertainment and distractions. With the right to access the internet comes the responsibility to do so according to the standards set by CTK and the CSPD.

All students log in to the internet via the CSPD gateway which filters various websites and monitors each student’s activities. For this reason it is extremely important that your child does not let anyone else use their login. Subscription databases including Reading Eggs and Mathletics/Mathseeds and other education apps have report functions which allow teachers to monitor student activity and use.

CTK promotes the eSafety Commissioner's message below:

Connect safely and with purpose – by keeping apps and devices secure and using social media in positive ways.

Reflect before we act – by taking a moment to consider how what we do and say online may affect others.

Protect ourselves and others by taking action – by telling family, friends or colleagues about eSafety and how we can help.

The information contained in this form will be collated by the Learning Technologies Support Teacher (LTST) at CTK and used solely within the school for the purposes of ensuring your children are kept safe and responsibly use technologies.
