INTRODUCTION: Welcome to our third Sunday of Easter. As we continue to celebrate the season of Easter, we will see in this week's Gospel that the Risen Jesus appears to his friends on Easter evening with a message of peace and forgiveness. They spent the day in fear and confusion up until Jesus came to them. It was a sign of Jesus' great tenderness for his friends that he wished them peace. Let's turn to page 3 in your Good News Weekly and read more about when Jesus appeared to his friends in the reading "Jesus Lives." Then answer the questions below.

Great job!! In the Gospel reading, we see that some of Jesus' friends thought he was a ghost when they saw him after Easter. However, he ate food with them and let them touch him so they could see that he was really there. We also believe that Jesus is really with us in Holy Communion, at Mass. We call this the Real Presence and we will talk about it more in our next lesson.
