The Indigenous Student Representative (ISR) is a representative of the Students’ Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) who represents the Indigenous community and student perspective and voice at the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations (CASA), a federal advocacy group SAMU is affiliated with, and on the National Indigenous Advisory Committee (NIAC), a subcommittee of CASA.
The ISR is provided an honorarium of $60 per meeting attended of NIAC, and $30 per conference preparation meet attended, which will be facilitated by SAMU’s internal advocacy team. In addition, the ISR will receive an allowance of $400 at the beginning of their appointed term for the cost of apparel for upcoming conferences and have all conference travel expenses such as flights, accommodations, and food per diems to CASA and NIAC conferences covered by SAMU.
