APALA Volunteer Form (2024–2025)
Are you interested in getting more involved with the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA)?

We seek APALA member volunteers to help shape the organization and ensure that we continue to be rooted in social justice, inclusivity and advocacy. We are looking for committee chairs and committee members for the following committees and taskforce(s) and need your talents and skills! Please visit the APALA website for committee descriptions.

We are looking for volunteers for the following committees:
  • Constitution and Bylaws
  • Family Literacy Focus
  • Finance and Fundraising
  • Local Arrangements Task Force: LibLearnX 2024 (seeking Phoenix-area locals to plan social and tour)
  • Local Arrangements Task Force: ALA Annual 2024 (seeking Philadelphia-area locals to plan social and tour)
  • Literature Awards
  • Media and Publicity
  • Membership
  • Mentoring
  • Program Planning
  • Scholarships and Awards
  • Statement and Advocacy
Appointments begin July 1st, 2024 and terms are for one year (with the option to volunteer again in the future)! Members are expected to participate in virtual work and report to the committee chair on a regular basis. Chairs are expected to participate in virtual work, lead the committee, keep tasks on track and report to their Board Member-at-Large liaison.
