Black and Pink: Chicago's Public Viewing of the Civil Commitment Archive Registration
In 2019, B&P Chi surveyed 200+ people who are civilly committed at Rushville Treatment and Detention Facility (one of Illinois' two civil commitment facilities). People inside Rushville were generous enough to share handwritten testimonials, diagnostic materials, and other resources that help us understand the cruelty of civil commitment in Illinois and beyond.

We would like to share these with the public so we can learn more about civil commitment through the experiences of people who are currently locked up in Illinois, and begin to brainstorm about how best to honor and share these individuals' experiences with interested community members.

You can use this form to register for the September 1st, 2020 public showing of the Civil Commitment Archive. This event will be hosted over Zoom, and we will use this form to send you the necessary details to access the Zoom event.
