AVID Application SBHS
AVID’s mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness in a global society.  AVID is a national College Readiness Program that seeks underrepresented students who are motivated to do rigorous coursework necessary to become college-ready.  AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination.  AVID students enroll in the AVID Elective throughout high school and receive the academic and personal support needed for college success.

PEAC (Program for Effective Access to College) is a service program that supports AVID through academic mentors, tutoring services, targeted counseling, family workshops, and college field trips.  Together the AVID & PEAC programs provide a comprehensive program that focuses on each individual student’s academic success.
